Mark Dignam & Friends, Calm Before The Storm is a show that looks to (and succeeds) showcasing the more poetic of the Irish music canon. The premise is that Dubin born Mark farms out his favorite traditional and contemporary songs from his homeland to local Pittsburghers, who then interpret them as they will, and go on to perform one of their own original songs to round out their sets. Mark handles hosting duties as well as jumping in and out to perform his own sets in between.
The show has had an amazing run for over a dozen years at Club Cafe on the Southside but now makes it home at the Winery.
Guests include: Kaston Guffey, Kelsey Jumper, Bealtaine, Skye Burkett, Anthony Jardine, Bethany James, Bealtaine and Mirabelle Skipworth, with special guest Ronan Leonard who is traveling from Ireland this month.
