About the event
About Litz:
A decade ago, Four-headed funktronic giant LITZ began leading listenerson energetically-charged adventures through feeling and sound. As theysharpened their showmanship and songcraft in the Maryland jam scene,LITZ ventured forth, opening for names like Papadosio and Lotus whileadding Electric Forest, Resonance, and Peach to their festival accolades. The foursome–Austin Litz (keyboards, saxophone, vocals), Logan Litz(bass), Dan Gallerman (guitar), and Nick Thrasher (Drums)--are constantlyproducing new tracks that defy categorization musically andmetaphysically. Combining funky horn riffs, wah-wah keys, pounding bass, flute, and sensational guitar, they curate a sound that isn’t decisively funk, jam, go-go, or soul but irrefutably and exquisitely LITZ.On stage, LITZ are custodians of the audience’s dreams, fears, and hopes.Their mesmerizing synergy and improvisation inspire authentic connection, reminding us that music, more than a sound, is a feeling. No two LITZexperiences are identical. As they riff and take risks, LITZ rocks theiraudiences’ senses and souls, pulling listeners into new realms of emotion.Ecstatic introspection, laughs with friends, and dances shared withstrangers are equally part of the LITZ odyssey.
About The Sun Champs:
Formed in late 2017, The Sun Champs, a Pittsburgh-based funk rock band began crafting a unique sound which incorporated rock, funk, blues, jazz, and latin influences. The band consists of blues-rock guitar connoisseur Randall Penn on vocals and guitar, multi-instrumentalist Michael Cerveris on guitar and keys, master jazz enthusiast Gerald Homme on the alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones and ewi, and the funk-gospel rhythmic juggernaut pairing of Ryan Black on bass guitar and Jordan Allen on drums. Made up of members with various musical backgrounds, The Sun Champs focused their mission on writing and performing their own musical compositions and constantly challenging their own ideas in order to create a seamless live show, which has been described as a thrilling multi-genre jam session. The band’s self-produced debut LP “Equator” was released in August 2023, and is now available on all major streaming platforms. In June 2019, The Sun Champs independently produced and released their first self-titled EP.
